London named Best Student City in the World by QS
09 May 2018
QS have named London as the Best Student City in the World following the publication of their Best Student Cities 2018 ranking.
London topped the poll for the first time ever, which surveyed over 50,000 students about their experience of the city and if they would like to remain there after graduation. QS also factored in six key indicators - rankings, student mix, desirability, employer activity, affordability and student view - when compiling the table.
London has a student population of over 40,000 and is home to around 40 institutes of higher education, including world class universities such as Imperial College London, King’s College London, London School of Economics and Political Science, Queen Mary, Royal Holloway and UCL.
Ben Sowter, Research Director at QS, said: "The 2018 ranking highlights the enduring quality of the student experience available in London. The city benefits from outstanding employment prospects, more world-class universities than any other city, and enviable lifestyle opportunities."
