Services for International Students

Oxford Brookes offers English language support, including academic writing and critical reading skills. At the beginning of the term, there is an arrival weekend for international students featuring campus and city tours. During the term, the International Student Advice Team (ISAT) can assist students with specific issues, such as visas or employment laws, alongside the standard personal support service.

Oxford Brookes University ranks highly for graduate employment and student satisfaction and has topped the rankings for modern universities for 11 of the past 12 years in The Sunday Times University Guide. Two Queen's Anniversary Prizes (honouring outstanding achievement and excellence) have also been awarded to Oxford Brookes. The University also regularly performs well in the People and Planet Green league of greenest universities.

The latest Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021) found that 97% of research at Oxford Brookes was internationally recognised or higher. It also found that 70% was judged to be of ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ quality.

Accommodation

Location

Oxford Brookes University is based on three campuses in and around Oxford, which can all be reached by public transport. A direct inter-site bus service operates all year round. The University also has a fourth campus, based in Swindon.

Oxford is situated in the south of England with excellent transport links to other regional centres. Trains run from London to Oxford every fifteen minutes; the journey is around one hour. Oxford is a compact city renowned for the beauty of its university architecture. With the University of Oxford also in the city, Oxford has a large student population and a wide range of shops, cafes, bars and other facilities that cater to students’ needs.
